I love this quote by designer Marc Jacobs. It really has been my mantra the last 272 days. Yes, I’m talking about the importance of my 2015 new year’s resolution. In the past, I would think about doing something and then I would look up and it would be a year later. So in January I made a promise to myself that I’m not going to let fear or excuses get the best of me. I took some time to figure out what I really enjoy doing and I took the first steps to see if I could actually turn it into a job. Luckily (and surprisingly) I stuck to my new year’s resolution and I launched Lavin Label in March. This year has already been full of surprises and it’s only been 6 months!

One of the highlights of the year has been attending New York Fashion Week + the Tibi show with Kelli Boyd, the photographer for Lavin Label. I love having a Tibi store in St. Simons and the designer, Amy Smilovic, is an inspiration for gal entrepreneurs, like me.

This trip really was a milestone trip for me! I hope that you channel your inner Marc Jacobs and Amy Smilovic to find it in yourself to do what you love. Life is too short.
