2016 Resolutions for a Healthy Body + Mind
A beauty detox with One Love Organics
Last year, my friend Ashley Johnson (pictured above) introduced me to a new skincare line called One Love Organics. The main reason why I was drawn to One Love Organics is because their products are all natural and organic. In fact, One Love Organics is 1 of only 10 ECOCERT® licensed manufacturing facilities for natural and organic cosmetics in the U.S. On top of that, their production takes place on St. Simons Island, Georgia, making it a health-conscious and eco-friendly local business.
I really believe in their products, not only from my personal experience, but also because I ended up meeting the owner, Suzanne LeRoux (it’s a small town) and she is just as impressive and wonderful as the products themselves! Her focus on simplicity, quality and effective ingredients, has established an incredible name for One Love Organics (OLO) in the skincare industry. OLO has received rave reviews in many different magazines, including Marie Claire, Garden and Gun, Glamour, Health, People and more.
When I learned that Suzanne was offering a beauty resolution detox + glow kit, I couldn’t wait to try it for myself. With the start of a new year, I always make resolutions that revolve around a healthy lifestyle. This year, I’m going to think twice about what I’m putting in and on my body, in addition to stimulating a healthy mind! I collaborated with my friends, Ashley Johnson and Livi Elliot, to make a plan for our green journey. We talked about the detox kit from One Love Organics, healthier eating habits from A Healthy Apple, and the importance of journaling about our goals and this process. I’m excited to share what we learned so that you can join our green journey! We outlined three main goals that are both simple and attainable, which motivates us to stick to them.
- Be more conscious of the foods that we’re eating. I enjoyed reading Amy Valpone’s site, The Healthy Apple, and learning about how she completely overhauled her life by adopting an all-econmpassing organic lifestyle through eating organic, fresh and unprocessed foods, in addition to practicing yoga and meditating. Amy motivated me to try to limit processed foods and be more conscious and thoughtful of the food that I’m putting into my body. I’m so inspired and excited to create some of Amy’s recipes from her book, Eating Clean, which will help Casey and I cook with predominately whole foods.
- Clean out everyday products in our homes that contain chemicals and toxins. One easy way to minimize exposure is to choose products with all natural ingredients, such as One Love Organics. Starting January 22nd, One Love Organics will guide us through the One Love Cleanse, a simple at-home detox routineto reset your skin! I’m excited because I’ve never done a detox that targeted my skin. You can purchase their Detox + Glow Kit here and make sure to follow them on Instagram! I’ll also announce a giveaway with One Love Organics this Sunday so stay tuned!
- Incorporate activities into our daily lives that foster a healthy mind. I’ll be doing more yoga, walking, meditating and journaling. I used to journal regulary, all the way from middle school to college, and then again from my wedding day to the day my Dad passed away. Writing about my feelings and focusing on positive ways to improve my life is something I have always benefitted from. I’m committed to coupling journaling with low impact exercise to help me start the year off on a path of overall health.
I hope that you’ll join me on this journey! I’m going to record my progress in a wellness planner from Thyme is Honey to help keep me on track. I would love to hear your favorite tips and tricks to living a healthy lifestyle!
