Every summer, I have a casual go-to outfit in my wardrobe for those unexpected summer adventures. This definitely came in handy while I was exploring the Outer Banks in North Carolina. I usually opt for more classic looks since I will wear them more often and sometimes can wear them for more than one season. Vineyard Vines is one of my favorite brands for every day summer style because of their coastal inspiration and preppy trends. Thus Vineyard Vines was the perfect match for my beach getaway.

For our last day of exploring the OBX, I opted for this three quarter length blue linen shirt and these white eyelet shorts. Linen is a fabulous summer fabric due to it’s breathable and lightweight characteristics, making this a comfy shirt even in the summer sun. The shorts were the perfect length and the eyelet overlay added just the right amount of texture and detail to the outfit. I always love blue and white and thought this color palette would blend in with the blue waters and beige sand on the North Carolina barrier islands. For sun protection, I wore my blue-rimmed beach hat and finished the look with my tried and true Jack Rogers. From our Nags Head home, we headed out the backdoor and onto the beach in order to enjoy views of the gorgeous water and Jennette’s Pier.
