With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching I have been trying to come up with some unique gift ideas for Casey. I have just learned of a new store in Savannah and it is the perfect fit, literally! Alton Lane (12 stores throughout the country, everywhere from Chicago to Dallas to New York) recently opened a store on Broughton Street. Founded by Colin Hunter and Peyton Jenkins, Alton Lane is a mens clothing store that creates custom-made shirts and suits, tailored to you! It uses the same high-end fabrics and attention to detail of designer menswear at a more affordable cost. The moment I heard about this I was booking an appointment to bring Casey there.

When you first arrive in this beautiful historic building, one that was actually a facility used to store cotton, you are welcomed into the most inviting environment. You sit down with a beverage of your choice (full bar and wine options!) and you start to look over a wide variety of fabrics with your style expert. Ours was Sarah-Ashley, she was so helpful and informative. I brought Casey there to create two tailor made shirts (starting at $99.00), but they also custom make suits (starting at $599.00). EVERYTHING about these shirts are custom, not just the fabric choice. You can select design options such as monogramming, choice of buttons, a compliment fabric for inside the cuff or the collar, type of pocket, and more. They have thought of every detail…even down to asking you which arm you wear your watch on so that they can give a 1/4 inch allowance to that sleeve.

When it comes time to taking your measurements, they are high-tech and technologically advanced. They have a 3D scanner providing accurate measurements within seconds. Once they have those measurements, they then have you try on sample shirts and take measurements by hand as well. Shirts typically take about 4-6 weeks. Once they arrive, you get fitted to make sure everything is just how you like it. All of the measurements and details from the fitting are stored in their database, making future orders a breeze. In addition, by them storing his information, it makes future gift giving for me super easy, I can surprise him with an order and he won’t ever know!

This is not just shopping for a shirt, this is an experience. Needless to say Casey enjoyed it and I think all of his next suits and shirts will be coming from there.
