Front Porch Spring Refresh
My Bougainvillea Springtime Boost
This is our first spring in the new house. We have been in awe seeing all of the different plants and beautiful blooms flowering throughout the yard, some of which we didn’t even know existed until now! We have a trellis in the back that is covered in confederate jasmine. The beautiful blooms and sweet smell of jasmine inspired me to give our front entrance a little seasonal refresh.
We headed down to our local Ace Garden Center, of course with Riley in tow! Ever since our trip to the Turks and Caicos last year I have had a mild obsession with bougainvilleas. They are so stunning and colorful when blooming. I saw these great bougainvillea topiaries and just had to have them. Their bright purple flowers are the perfect compliment to our blue front door. The previous owner of our home collected garden pots and had left us some terra cotta ones. So, one evening I grabbed my gardening gloves, a glass of Hogwash rosé, and the pups — and got planting. I placed the topiaries in the larger terra cotta pots and then I planted a bougainvillea vine, also in the bright purple at the corner of our home. I’m hoping with a little green thumb care, I can help it grow up the corner of the house for a fun pop of color in that area. In front of the light purple topiaries I placed some small potted impatiens to add a delicate touch to the entrance.
With just a few simple additions my entrance went from winter to spring. It was a fun activity, one that I truly enjoy. Now I love seeing the pop of color when I drive up to the house. Hope this inspires you to bring a little spring to your home and celebrate this beautiful season. And fingers crossed that I can keep everything alive. Any tips are appreciated!

Thank you!
It looks great! I am so ready to start gardening but unfortunately Colorado is due for a few more frosty nights.
Sounds like you need a visit to St. Simons Island! I do love Colorado though!
May I please ask where your sweet dress is from? Thank you!
Sure! I got it from JCrew a few years ago! I wear it all of the time because it’s so cozy.
Thank you for the inspiration! This will motivate me to work on my front porch this week. And I love your dogs!!!
You are so sweet, thank you!
