My Top Five Favorite Rosé Wines

My Current Rosé Obsessions for Summer

With the warmer temps, you can be sure that I always have one drink on hand for our guests — a rosé, also known as the Hampton’s Gatorade. There’s a reason why #YesWayRosé and #RoséAllDay are always trending on social media, especially during the summer months. Today, I’m sharing my top five rosé wines for 2018 that I love to enjoy all summer long.

Summer Water. I have to admit, I love the name of this wine and the branding behind it. I also love the crisp taste of the rosé. The Market at Sea Island sells this wine — which is how I originally discovered it. Expect a dry, light wine with notes of grapefruit, white peaches and strawberries.

Hogwash Rosé. On our recent trip to Napa, we met the owner of Hogwash Rosé, an Atlanta native, Boo Beckstoffer. This was one of the highlights of my time in Napa because Hogwash has been one of my favorite rosé wines. Their rosé is crisp and perfect to enjoy outdoors — which is ideal for our southern lifestyle. This is one of my favorites, since it is so versatile, and I always have a chilled bottle at home.

Domaine de Cala Rosé. The vintage 2017 Domaine de Cala Rosé has Povencal roots hailing from the French vineyards between Nice and Aix-en-Provence. The rosé has a pale pink hue with bright and clear reflections, evoking both floral and citrus notes that delicately progress into a spicy aroma. I’ve been enjoying this wine all summer long during our time at Palmetto Bluff.

Miraval Rosé. A well-known celebrity duo (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) partnered with the Miraval winemaking family to create this rosé. I love the champagne looking bottle — making it stand out from its competitors. It’s a bit pricey, but definitely worth the indulgence. Made in Provence, Miraval has the aroma of wild strawberries and wildflowers. The bottle alone adds to the decor of any table and makes it a great host gift.

Oyster Bay Wines Rosé. I’ve always been a big fan of Oyster Bay Wines but I especially love their fresh and fragrant rosé. Their rosé is produced from 100% Marlborough Pinot Noir which exudes summer cherry and fragrant blossom notes with a burst of red berries and a lively citrus zest. The cool climate Marlborough Rosé delivers the bright, berryfruit flavors of a summer’s day. Yes, please.
