My Kitchen Reveal
A Tour of the Kitchen in Our Carriage House

As you know, we recently purchased a new home in the historic downtown Savannah. The home was built in 1852 which means that we have a charming carriage house in the back! It has since been converted to a two bedroom stand alone home and the brick walls, exposed wood beams and wood burning fireplace make it super charming. But it did need a bit of an update! So today I’m sharing the final reveal of the kitchen. First, take a look at the ‘before’ pictures and renovation plans for the space that I posted a few weeks ago.
As you can see it was pretty dark and the flooring, cabinets and backsplash didn’t help. We decided to remove the existing tile and bring in a fresh pattern that would add a playful look to the space.
I also painted the cabinets Benjamin Moore Silver Lake. It’s a classic gray with blue undertones and perfectly matches the new decorative porcelain tile. One of my favorite enhances to the cabinets is the Carrara white marble hardware from VESTA. The marble knobs play nicely with our marble backsplash and the brushed satin nickel finish complements the faucet. VESTA has a lifetime limited warranty for its one-of-a-kind hardware collections and the knobs were certainly the finishing touch to transform the space! The hardware is absolutely stunning in person!
To help make the space functional, we decided to install a new kitchen sink, faucet and soap dispenser from BLANCO. What I love about the new sink is the 10″ bowl depth (take a look at the picture with my pup in the sink to understand the added depth!). Since our kitchen is tiny, this deep sink really makes it easier to wash dishes, prep for dinner and everything in between. Thanks to the granite, the sink is scratch + stain resistant as well as heat resistant so it’s perfect for everyday use, especially if we eventually decide to rent out the carriage house. The BLANCO DIAMOND sink bowl comes in 8 different colors — I opted for the metallic gray to complement the Benjamin Moore Silver Lake cabinets and blue and gray decorative tile. The faucet and soap dispensers are located on the corners of the sink which helps make the bowl larger and it actually worked perfectly with the space since I have a light above the sink. BLANCO really thought of everything! I installed the BLANCO SONOMA faucet because it matches the metallic gray sink but more importantly it has a pull down spray! The faucet features a solid brass body which makes it a centerpiece of the kitchen and it also has a toggle spray function.
A life changing decision was to add the soap dispenser — and y’all I’m serious. It is such game changer! I no longer have to bend down repeatedly to grab the dish soap or have it sitting out on the counter. It’s seriously an added bonus to the kitchen and if you don’t have one I would look into it ASAP. And of course BLANCO’s soap dispensers are made of the same quality as their other products. In addition, BLANCO sent a beautiful wood cutting board that was custom made to fit the sink. It was a such a nice surprise and not only does it make cooking so much easier since I have limited counter space but it’s also beautiful!
Lastly, we swapped out the green tile counter with a wood butcher block and installed a beautiful white chandelier from Circa Lighting. It definitely adds warmth to the space. I’m so happy with the final look and we’re so grateful to have all of the renovations complete! Stay tuned — I’ll be sharing more of the carriage house in the next few weeks.

Really well done! I love your choice of paint color for the cabinets – it’s so unique and really freshens up the space. And it goes perfectly with those cabinet pulls – love!
