A Feminine Bathroom Reveal

This sweet bathroom that I designed for a home in Savannah might take the cake for my favorite bathroom yet. It was an easy space to design because of the high ceilings and loads of natural light flowing in from the two windows. The front window overlooks a tree-line promenade and the side window overlooks a garden — so dreamy!
When I renovate a bathroom, I always invest the tile and stone first because it makes the biggest impact. The color, pattern and shape of tile and stone can absolutely transform a space. Then I select textiles, lighting and paint to bring the space together. I almost exclusively work with Garden State Tile for my own renovations, as well as my clients. They have beautiful showrooms in Savannah, Charleston, Columbia, and many more locations. I’ve posted many times about Garden State Tile before on my blog because I always have the best experience and they have so many offerings. They truly are a pleasure to work with and they provide design mockups of the spaces to ensure that customers order the right amount of product. It’s important to visually see the space so that nothing is lost in translation!
For this bathroom, I chose tile that was traditional yet fresh. My goal was to design this space with both a new and old feel, to give a nod to the house built in the 1930s. I loved the idea of penny tile (which is found all over Savannah) but with a feminine twist. My tile installer wasn’t too thrilled about adding the flower motifs but we spent a Saturday planning out the exact placement of each pink and green flower. It’s a dainty yet clean design that I love. In the end, I think that the tile installer finally came around, ha.
Since the tile choices in this bathroom are both traditional and simple, I decided to tile the front of the tub for a custom look. I used a bright white grout for the tile (Maritime from Garden State Tile in Clearwater White) around the tub and walls. I painted the walls and trim Benjamin Moore Simply White because we had planned to sell the house after renovations and I wanted it to appeal to a larger audience but a pink and green floral wallpaper would be perfect in this space!
Of course the bathroom wouldn’t be complete without products from the local Savannah shop, Asher and Rye, towels from Weezie and flowers from Savannah resident Jenny Long.
