Tibi New York Fashion Week Show
Tibi Fall 2015 Fashion Show
When a photo shoot involves travel, I say yes usually without thinking twice. When a photo shoot involves travel, New York Fashion Week, and the Tibi Fashion Show — I start packing my bags.
As you know, New York City played host to the New York Fashion Week a few weeks ago. It might be confusing but the shows that occur in September are actually revealing Spring 2016 collections. The fashion world is always two steps ahead.
Designer Amy Smilovic of Tibi actually grew up on St. Simons Island, GA. Most folks know Tibi for her dresses + ready to wear separates. You’ll usually see me donned in Tibi on Lavin Label since there is a Tibi store on the Island. And of course, I love her style — especially when I can snag very feminine pieces.
Luckily, we were invited by Tibi to attend their NYFW show. I worked with Ginny Clark, the General Manager of the St. Simons store to help style my outfits for our weekend jaunt to the big Apple. We ended going all ivory and I wore a beautiful two piece outfit from their pre-fall collection. I’ll be sharing that look soon…
But back to the fashion show. I thought that it was very cool to see Amy step out of her comfort zone and bring sometimes ‘tacky’ materials into a fresh new light where they look more refined. I’d say that she nailed it. A beautiful sequin soft pink dress was the show stopper — I think. I want one in every color (it also comes in black). The Spring ’16 collection was also a mix of cotton + silk, off the shoulder tops which were popular this past summer, and loose silhouettes. I hope you enjoy the pictures that Kelli Boyd Photography took of the show. I loved our angle because we could really get some great detailed shots!
