Powder Room Reveal

The Smallest Room in the House Got a Big Makeover

I'm so excited to reveal my powder room for you today! Because it's so small it was challenging to create a space that's both open + inviting! But first, let's check out a 'before' picture. Yikes. The first thing I did was choose a wallpaper from Farrow and Ball. I opted for a small blue and white stripe (Closet Stripe 360). Since the space is small, I wanted to play with color so I painted the trim and crown a much brighter blue than the wallpaper: Stone Blue in Modern Eggshell. One of my favorite design aspects of the space is the Hampton Chandelier by Circa Lighting. The chandelier's white finish brightens the powder room and creates a beautiful glow. To maximize space, I worked with a plumber to install a wall mount faucet.…

Foyer Home Update (Video)

An IGTV Tour of My Foyer

Wallpaper Reveal

I'm absolutely grateful for all of your messages and interest in my latest IGTV video tours! I thought that it'd be a great time to give you an update with our foyer because it's one of the rooms that is almost finished. Adding a bit more artwork + tabletop decor will make the space complete! The biggest impact of the space was definitely the wallpaper and lighting! It's so fun to see the whole process come to life! The wallpaper is Farrow & Ball St. Antoine BP 946. For more details on the wallpaper, please visit my foyer wallpaper reveal post. My IGTV video (Instagram TV) starts with a before video of the entry and then heads into the installation of the wallpaper. I'm obsessed with the color and how it perfectly complements the…

A Recap From My Recent Trip to Florence

Meet the Artisans Florence

I'm so excited to finally share my recap from my recent trip to Florence, Italy! Last month, I was fortunate enough to travel to the Birthplace of the Renaissance on behalf of PromoFirenze and Florence Chamber of Commerce. The focus of the trip was MIDA 2019, the 83rd annual International Artisan Fair that highlights local generational trades found in Florence. Day One. After a very long flight we arrived to our hotel, The Student Hotel located in downtown Florence. (Luckily, I had two friends who also packed their bags and hopped on the flight with me.) We rested during the day and then headed to the Florence Chamber of Commerce for a beautiful welcome dinner. I absolutely loved the musical performers, a violinist and guitarist duo. It was a fun event to meet the…

Highlights of the SCAD Fashion Show 2019

Savannah Fashion Show

I was fortunate enough to attend the highly anticipated Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Fashion Show in Savannah earlier this week. The annual show celebrates original designs curated from SCAD's School of Fashion seniors and graduate student collections. Forty six collections were shown at the Savannah show which took place in historic downtown. It was a high-energy and inspirational show that made me wish that I went to school at SCAD, especially now being in the creative industry. Fashion shows have been produced in Savannah for nearly 20 years, and this year marked the first-ever runway show in Atlanta. I've always been a fan of SCAD, especially since I visited their Lacoste campus in France. So it was a treat to be able to attend the show and check out the collections.…

My Wallpaper Selection from Farrow & Ball

Wallpaper Reveal

Last fall I asked for your help on Instagram (see post below) to help choose a wallpaper design for my entry. I was overwhelmed with the amount of responses -- it was so helpful! Being able to easily get your feedback is one of the best advantages of Instagram in my opinion! Thank you! View this post on Instagram I’ve narrowed my wallpaper choices down to three. The runner has hints of blue with a blue trim (see a close up via my Instastories). Which wallpaper do you think would be best in the space, A, B or C? (Swipe right to see options) I seriously have not made up my mind yet. @farrowandball #lavinliving A post shared by Monica Lavin (@lavinlabel) on Dec 18, 2018 at 6:43am PST First, were the three choices…
