My One Kings Lane Favorites

A Roundup of My Items Favorited on OKL

As I'm decorating our new home, I found myself turning to One Kings Lane frequently. It's a great resource for unique, quality and antique pieces. With the recent launch of Palette, now you can choose your frame and upholstery then customize the colors and scale of the fabric. Right now they're offering 20% off of art and mirrors. I especially love this vintage pattern and this set of hunting scenes. An Incredible Cottage Renovation

A Cottage Renovation in St. Simons Island, Georgia

Before and After Cottage Renovation

Today I'm sharing incredible before and after pictures of a private cottage on St. Simons Island, Georgia. My friend and talented designer, Normanne Gibson fully renovated her Island home built in 1980. I love the open floor plan, plunge pool and lush landscaping that this house offers. It truly took a visionary to see the potential and the result is stunning! Check out more pictures of this three bedroom and two bath home on the real estate listing. Photography by Chris Moncus

An Update with our Home Renovation

My First Audio Post with a Home Reno Update

Double Parlor Design Plans

I'm trying something new today! Instead of writing a blog post giving you an update about our home renovation -- I thought that I would record an audio snippet instead. It's about 8 minutes long and walks you through the timeline, kitchen renovation and planning process in my own words. Why? It takes me such a long time to craft a blog post! I can spend hours on it. It's much easier for me to talk about it. I tried doing Instastories but they only last 24 hours unless you add it to a highlight. I've been looking for a medium to connect with you in a causal, authentic and personal way -- so hence audio posts! I'm obsessed with podcasts because I can listen to them in the car, on a walk/run, etc.…

Dining Room Interior Design Plans

A Peek Into My Furniture + Fabric Choices

Dining Room Design Plans

As you may know, I'm in the process of decorating our new home in Savannah, Georgia. I've already shared my interior design plans for the double parlor and today I'm giving you a peek into my interior design plans for the dining room. The dining room is becoming one of my favorite spaces in the house. I've always wanted a formal dining room to host our family and friends! I also really love this space because of the sweet original French doors with a frosted glass design. They provide the perfect touch to help transition the double parlor into the dining room. But first, here's a look at the existing space (the 'before' images): We plan to make the opening on the East wall larger to create a better flow into the adjoining room.…

Double Parlor Design Plans

A Peek into my Furniture + Color Choices

Double Parlor Design Plans

Today, I'm giving you a look into the design process for the main room in our new house, the double parlor. It's been fun to pick out furniture, paint colors, lighting and fabrics for the new space. But to be honest it's also scary since this is my very first design project (typically I'm just adding pieces of furniture here and there)! I'm not sure what I would tell my husband if none of the furniture fit. And this was a legit concern (even though I measured five times) that I used blue painter's tape to map everything out on the floor. My husband thought that I was crazy but it helped reassure me that everything will fit just fine. We all need a project to push ourselves, right? Anyways, I put together a design…
