If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Casey and I were recently at The Breakers. Having been there before, we absolutely love it there. It's about a 5 hour drive from where we live so it is completely doable for a mini-getaway. May is one of our favorite times to go to Palm Beach, it is towards the end of peak season so it isn't overly crowded, but at the same time it is not overwhelmingly hot yet either. Our plans for the weekend involved lots of pool time and frozen drinks. We did rent some bikes to explore Worth Avenue and the surrounding neighborhoods. At this time of year, everything is in bloom and it is simply stunning. The homes in the area are magnificent and their gardens are meticulously manicured. It clearly…

Sunroom Makeover

As you probably already know, we recently renovated our home in Southern Georgia. We've been living in our house for almost 5 months now and we're loving every bit of it, especially the sunroom! The renovation had led to so many different expenses, such as plumbing light fixtures, bathroom mirrors, hardwood floors, and the list goes on... Near the end of the renovation, I realized that one of my favorite rooms in the house became an afterthought since it wasn't in our budget. Now that we're finally settled in, we're giving this light-filled room the love and attention it deserves! So today I'm sharing the plans to transform our very neutral sunroom to a more colorful and casual space. For this project, I enlisted the help of interior designer, Kerry Spears. Kerry is a Lavin family friend and…

Recently, Kelli and I were able to take a quick trip to one of my favorite places - New York City! There is something about the big apple that I've always loved, and I'm grateful that Lavin Label takes me there for work. On our most recent visit, we stayed at the One Hotel -- which is near Central Park. The decor, laid back atmosphere and their commitment to sustainability made this a wonderful place to stay that I would highly recommend. Since New York has become one of my favorite cities to visit, I'm sharing some of my personal restaurant picks in the city! Hopefully this mini restaurant guide will come in handy for your next trip to the big apple! Scarpetta is an incredibly delicious restaraunt that is located at the edge of the historic meat…

DIY Succulent Wreaths

Update Your Front Door for Spring

DIY Succulent Wreaths
DIY Succulent Wreaths

A few weeks ago, I had a few of my friends over to assemble gift boxes for our moms just in time for Mother's Day. We set up shop in my front yard -- bringing out a table from inside, chilled Oyster Bay Wines and all of the fixings for the gift boxes. They turned out super cute and my mother and mother-in-law absolutely loved them! Since I had everyone gathered, I thought that it would be the perfect time to do a little DIY wreaths, too. I've been itching to do a wreath with succulents because it's simple and they last a long time! Even though the wreath is easy to make the results are impressive. You just need the following: Succulent plants Preserved Moss Grapevine Wreaths Floral Wire Hot Glue & Glue Gun To assemble: First, figure…
