In December, Kelli and I were headed to Charleston for the Garden and Gun Jubilee. While there we were looking for a fun activity to do in the Holy City.  We had previously stayed at The Grand Bohemian Hotel and loved how eclectic this centrally located hotel was.  [In case you missed our feature, you can read it here.]  When we heard they offered a wine blending class we knew this would be the exciting new activity we were looking for. And it certainly didn't disappoint! I'm sharing our wine blending experience with their leading Sommelier so the next time that you're looking for something fun and unique to do in Charleston -- try this class! Upon our arrival, we went to Élevé, the rooftop bar and restaurant of the Grand Bohemian.  We enjoyed a delicious cocktail (to…

Engage Summit Recap

Three Takeaways From The Luxury Wedding Business Summit at Sea Island

Engage Summit Sea Island
Engage Summit Sea Island

I'm starting 2017 as re-energized as ever because a few weeks ago I attended the incredible and awe-inspiring Engage Summit. The co-founders, Rebecca Grinnals and Kathryn Arce created an intimate and engaging series of summits bringing together the wedding industry's top professionals. They held their last Summit of 2016 at Sea Island. Within the first few days I met heavy hitters Mindy Weiss, Amy Zaroff, Bryan Rafanelli, Keija Minor, Carley Roney, Paige Chenault, Abby Larson and more. The Summit was also the most highly-styled Summit that I've been to (which you'll see from the pictures taken by Kelli Boyd Photography) -- thanks to the talented Vine Garden Market, Beachview Events, Sea Island Team and so many more! These folks worked tirelessly to pull off a spectacular Engage Summit! To be honest, I was a bit nervous going into the Engage Summit. I don't think of…

Happy New Year, friends! If you're like me then the new year means one thing, and no I'm not talking about New Years Resolutions, at least not yet! I'm referring to the HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes! At this time of year (every year) I go to HGTV.com and enter to win the Dream Home. The sweeps opened last week so it's officially your chance to win this beautifully renovated home -- almost right down the street from me! The HGTV home is almost in my backyard -- St. Simons Island, GA. Kelli Boyd and I, along with Cheri and Whitney from The Southern C, had the chance to tour the dream home in the beginning of December and it sure was dreamy. Since we just renovated our home and I'm in the process of decorating, I…

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

The Perfect Chocolate Dessert

Red Wine Hot Chocolate

Today I'm sharing a deliciously rich spin on the classic hot chocolate recipe! The magic ingredient: red wine. The addition of cabernet makes it the perfect drink to sip as an evening indulgence. This drink is very simple to prepare and your guests are sure to enjoy it, which makes it perfect to serve as a hostess. I've teamed up with Emily McCarthy for all of my entertaining essentials, such as this holiday lucite serving tray, monogrammed buffalo check mug and cocktail napkins! These details may impress your guests even more than the boozy hot chocolate! Ingredients: 1 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup Cabernet Sauvignon 1/3 cup dark chocolate chunks A pinch of cinnamon Instructions: Melt the chocolate in the microwave. (Be careful to not overheat or burn the chocolate.) In a saucepan, heat the milk on medium until…
