This year has already been so fulfilling for me and it's only March! But March is a pretty special month because it marks the one year anniversary for Lavin Label! It's pretty wild to think that I've been doing this for 12 months now because it just feels like yesterday that I decided to launch my lifestyle blog -- without having any idea the amount of joy, fulfillment, friends and adventures it would bring. My husband has definitely been a trooper, too. We were actually at dinner last week and I told him 'thank you.' He has been there from the beginning - listening to me ramble on about what's happening this week with Lavin Label. I still get so excited when someone or a company (big or small) reaches out to me for…

Recently, I had the chance to enjoy a fabulous dinner at Cotton & Rye, near historic Downtown Savannah. In 1953 the building was completed and originally was home to a bank. This space has been used for several functions since then. However, the actual bank vault was transformed into a private dining area--something I've never seen before! The restaurant is the perfect blend of a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere. The modern white brick, open air feel, and cotton accents add character to the restaurant. They also have a fabulous outdoor space that is perfect for dining al fresco in the spring or summer, or even enjoying a cocktail. Their menu varies from speciality salads, to carefully crafted seafood dishes and more traditional entrees like steak or fried chicken.  The restaurant focuses on sourcing local…

This week, I got to soak up the sunshine during my first beach day of the season! I headed to Tybee Island, which is just outside of Savannah. I spent the day seaside, on Tybee's three miles of expansive, white sandy beaches. I'm constantly searching for the perfect cover up, since I live at the beach and always need to throw one on. Well, this is definitely my new favorite beach tunic! It's light and breezy, which is necessary for hot days on the coast. The coral and light blue on this tunic are perfect for summer, and the pom poms add just the right amount of detail. The canvas beach bag is an excellent size because there's plenty of room to bring towels, sunscreen, and of course, magazines, since no beach day is complete without them! Mimi…

Today I'm sharing the images from my very first Lavin Label photo shoot from last year. I thought it would be fun to go through the archives and reminisce over some of my favorite shots from the story. I'm also discussing three easy and creative ideas that you can add to your Easter brunch! I am especially thankful for everyone that helped me create this story last year. I was just getting started, so it means the world to me that you supported me from day one. Last year's shoot turned out to be the perfect spring day in Sea Island, Georgia to host an Easter brunch for my girlfriends! Elle Smith captured the delicate pastel colors of the Easter tablescape, florals, and bubbly bar! We sipped on champagne and ate mini egg and spinach frittatas. These fun Easter outfits were…

Charleston Fashion Week Recap

The Mini Guide to Charleston Fashion Week

Charleston Fashion Week
Charleston Fashion Week

Last week, I was in heaven at the Charleston Fashion Week, especially since I got to enjoy a couple nights of dinner and fashion shows with my friends! This year marks the 10th Anniversary of Charleston Fashion Week (CFW) so it was an especially grand celebration. The weather turned out to be incredible, with temps in the 70s, which was perfect for spring dresses and outdoor cocktails. I love Charleston Fashion Week since the Holy City is one of my favorite destinations and I love the whole runway set up in Marion Square --in the heart of Charleston. If you plan to go to CFW next year, pin this article -- it covers everything from where to stay, what to wear and what to expect. You can also check out my Charleston Travel Guide for restaurant and shopping recommendations. Fashion Shows. We started our…
