I LOVE this time of year. You'll find me drinking a Gingerbread Chai Latte, sitting by the fire and listening to Michael Buble's Christmas album. I mean, what could be better? So to help get you in the holiday season, I'm taking you to Brewer Christmas Tree Farm with the Lino family. We packed our picnic basket filled with sweet treats from Savannah Candy Kitchen and headed just 45 minutes outside of Savannah. The family got the party started by setting up a hot chocolate bar, using a homemade hot cocoa recipe by A Squad Bake Shop. They found the perfect tree and Jackson actually helped cut it down. Throughout the day, the family used a vintage Polaroid Camera to capture their adventures, even using them as decoration for their tree. Enjoy! Concept and Styling: Monica…

Artwork is very important to me as it sets the tone for our house. Though, I admit that sometimes it can be intimidating to walk into an art gallery as an amateur. With so many choices, I tend to reach sensory overload and don't ask for more information about the various pieces, styles or artists so I leave both empty handed and overwhelmed.  According to Well and Wonder, collecting artwork should be fun, soulful and add to your sense of wonder - the kid in all of us that doesn't stop day dreaming. Featuring all original art from southern artists, Well and Wonder appeals to all regardless if you are a well curated collector or a first time buyer. This is truly the future of the art gallery world. Well and Wonder's site is easy to…

Asian Soul Food in Charleston

One of the most talked about restaurants in Charleston is Xiao Bao Biscuit (SEE OU! / BAOW / BISKIT). Have you heard of it? It's Charleston's favorite spot for Asian Soul food. It's a bit off the beaten path (I'd recommend that you hail a rickshaw) but it's what makes the atmosphere. Once a gas station now serves hungry customers dishes with influence from China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. We ordered the Okonomiyaki (their signature dish), Bo Bo Ji and So Tum Chicken. Next time you're in town check it out. Also, take a look at my Charleston Travel Guide for other restaurant recommendations. Photography: Kelli Boyd Photography Location: Xiao Bao Biscuit

As the host, follow these three easy tips to create an inviting + cozy backyard gathering. Offer a signature cocktail that incorporates seasonal ingredients. The classic Moscow Mule is comprised of vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and mint and is traditionally served in a copper mug. Style your ingredients on a serving tray, such as the Saddle Leather Tray or the Fretwork Rim Mirror Tray (shown below). You can even break the recipe down into steps. This way, guests can follow the simple instructions to make their cocktail with ease. Visit Lavin Label for the Moscow Mule cocktail recipe. Starting Fall with The Pampered Foot

Fall is here, even in southeastern Georgia. The temps this week are supposed to fall into the mid-50s and the marsh grass is starting to change from vibrant green to a golden orange! So along with low temps, it's time to bring out the boots, apple inspired recipes and oversized sweaters. Luckily, The Pampered Foot, a luxury shoe and clothing store in St. Simons Island (just a bike ride away from my house) had everything that I was looking for to jump start fall. They sell brands such as Marc Joseph, Cole Haan, Michael Kors and more. During the days while I'm working at the coffee shop or running errands, I'd much rather choose to wear comfy yet stylish clothes over business casual. I found the perfect blend at The Pampered Foot. I LOVE Cole Haan…
