Silver Bluff Brewery
A Recent Trip to Brunswick, Georgia's New Local Brewery
And alas, the time has arrived. After years of planning, designing and building, Silver Bluff Brewery has officially opened in the Golden Isles!
I’m honored to give you a tour of the latest and greatest addition to the Golden Isles ever growing list of must-do attractions. Silver Bluff Brewery opened this summer and has already caught the attention of the southeast’s beer scene since all of their beer is made on-site. The outdoor beer garden, tap room and brewery exceeded my expectations – difficult to do as I was already expecting very big things from our good friends and wildly talented owners, Chris and Ally Moline and their partners, brothers Jeff and Kevin Coyle.
I was awe-struck as soon as I pulled up to the massive black doors that led to the outdoor beer garden. I could immediately envision myself hanging out there with friends, playing cards and sampling beer while listening to live music. Sounds pretty ideal to me.
Every detail from the preservation of the adjacent building, the construction detail of the bar and the layout of the beer garden was impressive. The facility is immaculate and you quickly pick up on the fact that this is not just another brewery. As the first of its kind in the region, Chris, Ally and their partners are changing the Golden Isles landscape one pour at a time.
The idea behind the brand was to create a space for locals and visitors to enjoy as a family, and their large indoor and outdoor spaces are perfect for social distancing. It’s the perfect addition to historic Newcastle Street where you can sample their beers while enjoying take-out food from local restaurants. The beautiful bar, great indoor seating options and awesome large TVs make it an ideal place to catch a game and taste a variety of brews rain or shine.
My friends know that I frequent a glass of Rosé or an Aperol Spritz at happy hour but when Ally poured me a sampling of the Silver Bluff draft beers, I became a convert. My favorites are the Golden Ale and American Pale Ale, both refreshingly balanced, smooth and complex. They’re also fine tuning a hard seltzer, which I can’t wait to get my hands on.
The best part is that they distribute locally, so whether if you live in the Golden Isles or Savannah, you can get your hands on their beers. They distribute to over 150 areas in the Golden Isles and surrounding areas. And, for the Savannahians you can taste their beers at Starland Yard and Habersham Liquors. Lastly, if you’re looking for social distancing approved holiday parties, contact Silver Bluff for details.
